Embark on a journey filled with furry friends, fun activities, and many tails of joy. Junior Advocacy Day invites young animal enthusiasts aged 8-12 to experience the magic of caring for and connecting with our adoptable four-legged companions. Sessions are ideal for kids who adore animals and want to explore the world of pet care and compassion.

Sign up for either session.
➡️ AM session: 9 AM – 12:15 PM
➡️ PM session: 12:30 PM – 3:45 PM

What to Expect:
Animal Care Basics— Discover the world of animal care through interactive workshops, where you’ll learn about grooming, feeding and understanding animal behavior.
Heartwarming Encounters— Get up close and personal with our furry residents, spending quality time bonding, playing and even helping with their daily routines.
Creative Exploration— Engage in arts, crafts, and storytelling sessions that celebrate the unique personalities and stories of HSW animals.
Empowering Activities— Participate in games and challenges designed to promote compassion, empathy, and responsible pet care.

PLEASE NOTE: The animals at HSW Walden are regularly provided enriching treats including but not limited to nut butter and cheese, including in this program. HSW cannot ensure that attendees will not come in contact with potential food allergens.

What should my junior advocate wear/ bring?
-closed-toe shoes (sneakers preferred) and play clothes
-water bottle
-sunscreen + bug spray (optional)

Is lunch included?
-Yes, a pizza lunch is provided.
