Pet Surrender

The Humane Society of Walden is a small, limited-admissions shelter. While we do accept owner relinquishments of cats and dogs from the public on a case-by-case basis, animals will be given a thorough behavioral and medical evaluation prior to admission.

Please Note

• No walk-ins: We are often at or over capacity and cannot accommodate walk-in surrenders.
• Appointments required: To ensure we have space to accommodate.
• Vet Care: We have a very limited capacity to intake pets that aren’t up-to-date on vaccinations and altered. If you are able to get the pet up to date, it might make intake with HSW or another rescue organization easier
• We reserve the right to refuse any animal.
